1. What are the titles of the laws and regulations in Canada to regulate the structures and equipment for ships?

 

In Japan, the "Ship Safety Law" (and its relevant ministerial ordinances)regulates them. In addition, "Law for Preventing Collision at Sea" and "Marine Traffic Safety Law" stipulate some requirements on the navigation lights.

 

2. What organizations in the Canadian Government stipulate and amend the regulations related to the law mentioned above, and carry out the inspection of ships based on the laws and regulations?

 

In Japan, these items are covered by the Ministry of Transport, the Maritime Technology and Safety Bureau, the Safety Standards Division, the Inspection and Measurement Division, and the District Transport Bureaus.
